Thanks to everyone who participated in my royalty-donation drive in October. Thanks to you, 170 books were sold that month, which means a $170 donation is on its way to one n ten! I encourage you to visit their website and learn more about the amazing work they do to reach out to LGBTQ youth.
In other fun news, Stephanie Moore has won the signed copies of Brimstone and Portents. Thanks to everyone who entered the rafflecopter giveaway by liking my Facebook fan page, following me on Twitter, and all those contest tweets. Thank you so much for spreading the news about Amanda’s story!
It’s that time of year again! Next Friday is National Coming Out Day, and I will donate $1 per my book sold in the month of October to one n ten, a local support organization for LGBTQ youth. That’s five titles to choose from (all available from Amazon.com)! Both print and ebooks count, and I’ll even throw in a buck for every ebook borrowed through the Kindle Online Lending Library.
Every year, things get better. The progress made in recent months for LGBTQ awareness and equality is amazing and something to be proud of as a society. But things are still tough, especially for LGBTQ kids. They report higher incidences of living with non-accepting families, school/bullying problems, and the fear of being themselves in public than their straight peers. For more information, please check out HRC’s “Growing Up LGBT in America” study here.
one n ten is an award-winning nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ youth. Here in the Phoenix, AZ area, they’re working hard to provide safe places for teens to live, learn, and be healthy. In addition to (or in lieu of) making a purchase of my books this month, I encourage you to consider making a direct donation to one n ten (accessible by the link above).
Thanks in advance for your generous support! And feel free to spread the word!
